Welcome to all involved in the Eltham Tournament. Safe Travelling. We hope you enjoy your Weekend.
The fixtures are now available on the side links.
These fixtures incorporate the changes that resulted from withdrawals and misunderstandings.
Warning: The tournament program without an insert does not include these changes, so you need to have either, the insert or the information provided to you by your convenor about changes.
Have a great tournament.
We suggest you consult this website when feasible to see the results in your section. There is generally a lag of about 3 hours to enable the processing of results.
While the weather is not going to be very hot, it will be quite warm on Saturday. All participants should keep hydrated by drinking water regularly. Many venues have air conditioning but it is not always wise to operate the air conditioning if it is humid.
The A grade elimination finals format as it appears in the program is incorrect. For some reason the program used to generate the fixtures keeps reverting the format of elimination finals [A] to 1st S1 v 4th S1. It should read 1st S1 v 2nd S2.
Please remember that our chief goal for all teams, players and coaches and officials should be to strive for "personal and team bests." We hope competitions will be reasonably even, but there will always be losers.
Please read the tournament rules and regulations here. Let a tournament official know if you need assistance or advice.

A special THANKYOU to the Manhire family. After over 17 years of volunteer work to organise and run the Dandenong side of this tournament they are stepping down.
Alongside her usual day job and giving up her summer holidays, Sandy has done an exceptional job with all the pre-tournament administration. Incalculable hours have been spent on the phone and computer every year to ensure a smooth running weekend.
Andrew has been creating the fixtures since he was 13 years old with the assistance of Allan who also does the grading. Even though Allan has lost his hair with the countless number of re-draws that have had to be done over the years, we can all agree they have always produced fair and even fixtures.
Thank you very much, Sandy, Allan, Robyn and Andrew! You have done an exceptional job and we are sure that the tournament will not be the same without you.

At this point in time there are 956 teams enrolled in the Eltham-Dandenong Tournament (30 more than 2011).
Thank you for your entries!
Currently we are in the middle of the process of doing fixtures. There is quite a lot of refining and checking to be done before the fixtures can be released.
We are looking at a date about Tuesday 17th January. Fixtures and other associated details for your club and teams will then be emailed to organisers.
In the meantime we will be trying to make fixtures as friendly as possible for those involved.
Please do not withdraw teams as a first reaction to problems. If you are short of players we may be able to assist supplementing your team.
If you have to change any of your entry details
We would be interested to hear of any players interested in filling in teams of other Clubs or Associations if opportunity arise. We often find younger siblings of visiting interstate groups are keen to play!

Entry Form is now available here.
DATES
The Tournament will be conducted in 2012 at the following times:
OPTIONAL ONLY Thursday Jan 26th (Australia Day) from 1PM or teams may specify 6PM only if they would like games that day but only in the evening. Country teams may specify "afternoon only".
FRIDAY January 27th 5PM onwards.
SATURDAY January 28th all day
SUNDAY January 29th all day - interstate teams can request a late afternoon finish
AGE GROUPS
Age groups are taken from December 31st 2012 and at that time players must be under the age. Under 10,12, 14,16,18,20 age groups are the levels of competition and in most age-groups we have 4-8 grades.
GRADING
We spend quite some time analysing VJBL results to do our best to provide good grading. The large number of entries assists in helping this process. We ask Associations to provide information which is helpful for grading.
A GRADE
A grade is for teams which expect or aspire to be in VC (Victorian teams) or equivalent interstate or international standard. This tournament regularly attracts most of the top ranked teams in Victoria.
DOMESTIC TEAMS
We warmly welcome domestic teams and have a special grade or grades for them wherever entries permit. We exempt them from the team entry fee.
GUARANTEED GAMES
We guarantee five games normally, but particularly in A Grade with quarter finals this is difficult without a long weekend. All teams will be guaranteed 4 games (except in case of late withdrawal), but we will give five games where possible.
COMPATIBILITIES
We do our best to meet all compatibility requests and all reasonable time requests.
MINIMISING TRAVEL
We seek to minimise travel during the tournament. For instance Waverley teams are not fixtured at Keilor nor vice versa. We allow a minimum of 90 minutes between the finish of one game of a team and the commencement of the next one.
CLIMATE POLICY
Basketball Victoria heat regulations will apply as a minimum. In some matters (regularity of breaks in the game) tournament standards are stricter. Many of the venues we use now have cooling systems.
COMPATIBILITIES
We do our best to meet all compatibility requests and all reasonable time requests.
PAYMENTS AND FEES
If your Club or Association or even a team prefers to advance bulk payment you may do so by arrangement with the Tournament Office and we will send tickets for players and spectators when available, with a bonus team manager's ticket. Tickets still need to be displayed at the door and player's tickets will be clipped at their first game - Teams may purchase tickets for players but not spectators, if they wish.
We are pleased to report that for the 4th year in a row there will be no increase in door fees or in entry fees.
ENTRY FORMS
We expect entry forms to be available late October.
PLAYER LIMITS
In a tournament the FIBA rules state twelve players can be used in a game. We abide by this rule.
